AWE prepared Stormwater Management Plans for the 7 townships of Stockport, Tarlee, Riverton, Rhynie, Manoora, Mintaro, and Saddleworth, on behalf of the Clare and Gilbert Valleys Council.

The plans were prepared in accordance to the Stormwater Management Authority's Guidelines and the Natural Resource Management Board requirements.  The plans were required to identify infrastructure deficiencies and develop management strategies in order to adopt a more holistic approach to stormwater management, including flood mitigation, water quality and water reuse opportunities.

The project involved planning and engineering investigations, as well as meetings and discussions with Council, elected members, key stakeholders and the communities in each town. The project built upon the earlier floodplain mapping and addressed issues such as alleviating existing flooding problems, providing flood protection for public and private assets; augmentation of drainage network and identified priorities for this process.
